23 August: Ravensroost Wood: 1, possibly 2, f. Brown Hairstreaks - seen to settle on leaves not only of Ash but also Oak, Purple Hairstreak - on Ash! - Crossbill flew S. over wood calling, Marsh Tit, Emerald Damselfly, Emperor, Brown Hawker, Migrant Hawkers, Common Darters, Common Blue Damselflies, Peacocks, Small Coppers, Common Blues, Small Skipper etc. (Jon Mercer, John Booth, Wayne Clinch, RG)

20 August: CWP 59/68C: Kingfisher, c30 Long tailed Tits in very large tit/warbler flock, 95: 3 juv. Little Ringed Plovers incl. 1 with 4 colour rings - left, yellow over green, right, pink over pink, 2 Green Sandpipers, Little Egret, Whitethroat, Banded Demoiselles etc.

17 August: CWP 32: 2 Green Sandpipers, 95: 2 Hobbies - ad plus juv taking dragonflies, 2 Green Sandpipers, 2 Little Egrets, 74: 7 Dunlins etc.

10 August: CWP: 74: Common Sandpiper - no sign of stint or dunlins. Kent End:no sign of shanks or any other waders 68C: 3 Green Sandpipers - no sign of Wood.

9 August: CWP: Kent End: Spotted Redshank & Greenshank flew in to pit and around it calling then landed(?) - could not then be located. 68C: Wood Sandpiper with 4 Green Sandpipers feeding at edge of water in shallows, after a minute or two the Wood and 2 Greens flew off in direction of pit 74. Also Cetti's and Reed Warblers heard.

29 July: CWP : Kent End Quarry: 2 Hobbies (?pair) taking dragon/damselflies, Green Sandpiper, Little Egret, 3 juv. Common Terns with c.8 adults, lots of juv. Black Headed Gulls, 2 Common Blue butterflies Pit 82: 9 Curlews all ads. (in wing moult).

July 21: River Thames between Cricklade - Cotswold Water Park at pits 72/4: Sedge Warblers breeding by Thames, Large Skipper, 3 Commas, c50 Curlews, c8 Common Terns, Kingfisher pursued by 2 Crows, Lesser Whitethroat, Red Crested Pochard

20 July: Barbury Castle: Corn Bunting, Meadow Pipits and a singing Skylark, but butterflies all the same as at Blakehill - no blues at all.  Red Lodge Wood: Aberrant White Admiral (ab. obliterae), also 3 normal ones, c4 Silver Washed Fritillaries, 2 Commas, 2 Brown Hawkers (including one eating a Large White butterfly), 4 Southern Hawkers, c100 Azure Damselflies, c6 Marsh Tits, Nuthatch, Muntjac deer (2 in 2 days!)

19 July: Charlton: Muntjac deer

17 July: Cotswold Water Park: Red Crested Pochard female feeding 3 young (by diving for weed then holding it while they pecked at it), Garden Warbler feeding young, 4 Common Terns, Reed Warblers and Buntings both singing. Comma and 2 Red Admirals.

13 July: Gilkicker Point: Sandwich and Common Terns, Small Copper, 2 Common Blues, Gatekeepers, Marbled Whites etc. Beacon Hill: c3 Small Heaths etc., Yellowhammers. Both sites: breeding Meadow Pipits
